We have just completed the identity for a new start-up business 'The Suffolk Pate Company'. The brand is a combination of heritage based colours, strong typography and tailored icons which together project an elegant and upmarket product.

Challenge

To create a high-end product based brand including 5 individual identities for application to packaging, livery and stationery. Preferences included heritage colours, elegant typography and the creation of a 'must-have' product brand.

Solution

We created a primary brand mark along with a series of 5 product based identities. In support of the high-end positioning, we created the strapline 'passionate about pate' which reflects both the makers values and the consumer's discerning taste. Colour and the creation of bespoke icons support each product and assist in defining each product as a stand alone or as part of the set.

A degree of research was undertaken to establish competition within the sector, market perceptions and identity positioning. In more fully understanding where The Suffolk Pate brand was to be placed, we were able to both distinguish the product from competitors and leverage on The Suffolk Pate Companie's qualities. As with all products, the contents of the pot needs to be aligned with expectations. In each case, the pate is absolutely delicious, so go and buy some and discover for yourself!
